The Estherville Rotary Club had a number of visitors Thursday. They included a five-person study tour from India as well as seven Estherville Lincoln Central High School juniors who were awarded the Service above Self award.
The fact that such a diversity of people could be recognized and honored all in one place, and at one time, is a testament to the universal mission of Rotary.
Biswajit Pati (Bulu), team leader for the entourage from India, spoke to his great interest in hosting people from around the United States. his guests have included a doctor from Texas and a youth from South Dakota.
“I and my whole family love to host GSE team members and Youth Exchange Members every year and it was my dream to be a part of this unique program of Rotary, which provides an opportunity to interact one-to-one with host families and Rotarians of distant countries having diverse cultures and lifestyles,” Pati said.

It was a pretty remarkable feat when Excel! Estherville topped its goal of raising $100,000 in 100 days. In fact, they bettered it by $4,181.38.

When I studied in college, my courses were scientific. In science, we studied about searching for truth. It is very unsettling to see the direction that many scientists are moving today.
