SPENCER — The Estherville Lincoln Central girls tennis team didn’t have the best day at the Class 1A Individual Tennis Tournament with all losing their respective first matches.

“It was a tough day for us, but hopefully we got some good experience,” said ELC coach Larry Kirchner. “We only have one senior and we hate to lose her. But if we work hard, we could have a little more success next year.”

In singles play, Lexie Hash lost 6-0, 6-2 to Cherokee’s Demi Dunn and Stephanie Wittmer drew Spencer’s Emily Wassom and lost 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, senior Sarah Chrestiansen and teammate Kaylene Vos took on LeMars Caitlin Bauerly and Erica Westhoff falling 6-2, 6-4 in the prelims.

Erin Olson and Emily Swalve also played LeMars and lost 6-4, 6-2.
