Miriam Anderson

Funeral services for Miriam Anderson, 85, of Estherville will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Warren Baker officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery. She died Saturday, June 6 at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.

Miriam Audrey (Preston) Anderson, the daughter of Joseph and Pearl (Keeny) Preston, was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Swea City

She received her education in the Swea City schools, graduating from Swea City High School.

From 1943 through 1946, she was employed with Northwestern Bell Telephone. On March 15, 1947, Miriam was united in marriage to Kenneth Anderson in Mason City. The couple made their home in Estherville where they lived and raised their family. Miriam worked at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville for several years. In her leisure time Miriam enjoyed collecting angels, cups and saucers and spending time with her cats.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Miriam Circle.

Left to cherish Miriam's memory are her husband, Kenneth of Estherville; her children, Janet Anderson of Estherville; Arlene Fox and her husband, Al of Rolling Stone, Minn.; John A. Anderson and his wife, Beverly of Estherville; five grandchildren, Bobbi Noggle of Cedar Rapids; Amy Krzewinski and her husband, Josh of Winona, Minn., Alan Fox and his wife, Jenny of St. Charles, Minn., Andy Fox and his wife, Rachelle of Vacaville, Calif., Dan Keck and his wife, Jill of Show Low, Ariz., special granddaughter, Carrie Adams of New Jersey; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Griffith and her husband, Keith of Apple Valley, Calif.; Nina Boever and her husband, Marvin of Estherville; Janyce Kelly and her husband, John of Armstrong; brother, James Preston and his wife, Marilyn of Mission, Texas and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Miriam in death were; her parents; one brother, Thomas; and four sisters, Martha Preston, Pauline Jensen, Eloise Linde and Wilma Nelson.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers that memorial donations be directed to the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville.
