Thirteen-year-old Cheay Rippentrop landed an opportunity of a lifetime when she was accepted into Barbizon Modeling and Acting School in Sioux Falls, S.D., about a month ago.

In order to be considered for acceptance, Rippentrop went to an audition that lasted one day. The audition was a series of events where she brought and showed pictures of herself, posed and answered questions.

During the six months Rippentrop will be attending school she will learn skin, nail and hair care, diet and nutrition guidance, and exercise techniques.

Rippentrop sums it up as "taking care of your body."

She will also learn communication skills, basic acting skills and how to walk like a model. Rippentrop started school the last week in May and said she likes acting better so far.

After Rippentrop graduates she will hopefully be getting calls from agencies wanting to book her so she can go national and in the future, international.

Someday Rippentrop wants to act along side Corbin Bleu from High School Musical "because he's really cute." she said.

Barbizon schools are the world's largest and most respected modeling and acting schools with over 265 locations internationally.

Some familiar faces who have graduated from Barbizon schools are David Archuleta from Salt Lake City who won second place on American Idol in 2008.

Another is Moises Arias who plays Rico on Disney's show "Hannah Montana." Arias graduated from Barbizon in Atlanta, Ga.

Even another local has attended a Barbizon school. Spirit Lake graduate Courtney Goetsch signed with IMG models and has been modeling in Bangkok, Japan and Thailand. She opened a Chanel designer fashion show in 2007, the same year she graduated from high school.
