SAN DIEGO - Funeral services for Lena Opal Jansen, 96, of El Cajon, Calif., were held Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Greenwood Salli Lynn Chapel in San Diego, Calif., with Pastor Gary Bowman officiating. Interment was held at Lily Lake Lawn at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego.

She died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at Magnolia Care Facility in El Cajon, Calif.

Lena Opal Shirley was born Dec. 20, 1912, in Champaign, Ill., to Burt and Ethel Shirley. She married Rolland Shannon and they had four children: Norma Jean, Dale Edward, Michael Lee and John Sephen. Rolland passed away and she later married Bernard Jansen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Rolland and Bernard.

Her surviving children include Nona Klein, Estherville, and her children Mark, Russell, Larry, Scott, Jay and Judy; Dale Shannon of El Cajon, Calif., and his children Daniel, Brian, Jo Ann and Michelle; Michael of Oklahoma City and his children Kelly and Christie and John of Houston and his children Steve and Mike.
