Negotiations with county union workers planned

The Emmet County Board of Supervisors Tuesday held a strategy session for upcoming negotiations with IUOE Local 234, the bargaining unit for secondary roads employees.
The meeting was closed as per the state open meetings law. An open session will be held when the union makes its initial proposal.
In other business Tuesday, county engineer Roger Patocka gave the road report. Patocka said the Iowa Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10 in Ringsted regarding plans by the DOT to fix approaches on highway 15 northeast of Ringsted.
In other business, the board approved family farm, homestead and military property tax exemption applications.
