Spring Creek holds its grand opening

ARMSTRONG - Armstrong and area residents Sunday had the opportunity to see one of the premier retirement communities in the region at Spring Creek independent and assisted living in Armstrong.
The new facility shares the campus of Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong. The 12-unit apartment complex has both one- and two-bedroom units and is part of the $2.3-million expansion which includes updates to Valley Vue Care Center.
Visitors enjoyed a progression luncheon with various entrees at points throughout the new facility.
Spring Creek features a three-season room in which residents can enjoy nature while being in the comfort of the indoors. Residents have full use of an elegant dining room. There is also a graciously appointed living area with big screen television and fireplace.
Other features include a main floor laundry room, therapy room and activity room.
There is also a serenity room for hospice care which include overnight accommodations for family members.
Altogether, the independent and assisted living area comprise 19,000 square feet while the nursing facility was expanded by 7,000 square feet for a total addition of 26,000 square feet.
Personalized services are available including bathing and grooming, dressing and clothes selection, medication set-up, medication administration, transportation and errands such as pick-up and delivery.
Richard and Kathy Allbee, owners of ABCM Corporation which owns Valley Vue and Spring Creek, were present for Sunday's grand opening. ABCM has 30 nursing facilities and 19 assisted living facilities in Iowa making it the 28th-largest employer in the state.
