A lot going on in Emmet County last weekend
Were you bored last weekend?
Well then you must have been somewhere other than Emmet County where things were hopping all weekend long.
The Iowa Lakes madrigal dinner heralded in the holiday season with singing and instrumental performances from the Renaissance period under direction of Brett Fuelberth and Carol Ayres both Saturday and Sunday. It was an enchanting evening with a nice crowd attending at the MT Vault.
If you weren't there, chances were pretty good that you were attending the Many Voices Choir concert at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Saturday night. It was a beautiful performance, both in singing and in presentation, with the beautiful mosaic of St. Patrick hovering over the choir.
In Armstrong, visitors had the chance Sunday to try a progressive luncheon at the new Spring Creek independent and assisted living facility, the newest adjunct to Valley Vue Care Center. Visitors were visibly impressed by the appointments and amenities at Spring Creek which seems like a fine hotel or country club. Features include a living area with fireplace and big screen television and a four-season area where people can feel as though they're in the middle of nature while still inside. The facility is a fine contribution to the Armstrong community.
The Black Knights Car Club gave away scholarships and helped a number of people in need at their meeting Sunday. They had a good time doing it, too, enjoying pizza and soda at Woody's.
Estherville Lincoln Central High School instrumental and vocal musicians performed a beautiful Christmas concert at Roosevelt Auditorium Sunday afternoon.
The ELC Middle School musicians also performed their Christmas concert Monday night in Roosevelt with several hundred attending.
Look for a lot more to come this holiday season with many more fine concerts and performances throughout our area.
What a great way to celebrate Christmas!
