Sophomore post scores 23by David Swartz - Managing Editor
BENSON, Minn. - Estherville Lincoln Central pounded the ball inside against BBE. Post Alyssa Johnson scored 23 points and forward Alli Sievert had 14 in the Midgettes' 63-55 win on Saturday.
"We did a nice job of entering the ball and finished at th basket," said ELC coach Brad Leonard. "Defensively, we're still giving up too many points at the free throw line and offensive rebounds. We need to take care of that."
Leonard said Johnson both finished well around the rim and ran the floor well to score her career-high 23 points.
He said Sievert and Kelsie McCauley both played solid ball in both games in Benson, Minn.
McCauley had 11 points along with a team-high seven assists and three steals.
Sievert and Johnson each had five rebounds and McCauley had four.
Sievert also had five of the team's 10 blocked shots.
