Supervisors discuss roads
By Michael Tidemann - Staff WriterThe main business coming before the Emmet County Board of Supervisors Tuesday - as could be expected this time of year - was county roads.
County engineer Roger Patocka said crews had been plowing in addition to conducting a rescue mission during last Wednesday's storm. Patocka said the affected individuals will get a bill.
"It sounds like the guys did a good job getting out there," said board chair Randy Beaver. "It took a while considering how close it was to town."
"It was horseplay," Patocka explained as the reason the persons were stuck out in the country southeast of Estherville. "They just wanted to figure out what he weather was like." Instead, county road crews had to pull them from the ditch. "Apparently they didn't have much heavy clothing either," Patocka offered as a reason a crew was dispatched.
