Three people were injured in a collision Monday evening near the Minnesota/Iowa border on Highway 4 Monday.

According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, Nicole Rae Martin of Sherburn, Minn., was traveling north in a 2001 Ford F-350 when she lost control of the vehicle and it entered the path of a southbound 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada driven by Ronald Dennis Leffel of Estherville.

The Estherville Fire Department "Jaws of Life" and Ambulance services from Estherville, Sherburn and Dunnell, Minn. were dispatched to the scene. The drivers of both vehicles as well as a passenger in the Leffel vehicle-Phil Leffel, 20, of Estherville-were transported to Avera Holy Family In Estherville where they were treated for their injuries.

The 911 call to the sheriff was received at 7:36 p.m.

The Iowa Department of Transportation also assisted at the scene.
