CEYLON, Minn. - Services for Larry A. Evans, 64, of Ceylon, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, at the Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Fairmont. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Lakeview Funeral Home. Interment will be held 1:15 p.m. Friday at Lincoln Township Cemetery near Dolliver with full military honors by Nassen-Detert American Legion Post No. 529 of Ceylon.

He died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at his home in Ceylon.

Larry Alan Evans was born Nov. 13, 1945, in Dolliver, the son of Floyd and Emma Mae (Kleen) Evans. Larry received his early education from Dolliver schools and graduated from Lincoln Central High School in Gruver.

In 1968, Larry was united in marriage to Marie Larson. To this union, two children were born, Becky and Dean. He later married Nancy Shaw Nov. 2, 1992, in Sioux Falls, S.D. Together the couple made their home in Ceylon where they continued to reside.

Larry was a hard working individual, working for John Morrell for 18 years. He was also employed with Griese Construction and Watonwan Farm Service, retiring in November of 2008. Larry was an avid outdoors man cherishing time spent hunting and fishing with family and friends and was also a member and supporter of Ducks Unlimited. When not enjoying the outdoors, Larry found great joy in watching NASCAR races. He will be greatly missed by those that loved him and called him friend.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Nancy Evans, of Ceylon, Minn.; daughter, Becky Brewster, and husband, Travis, and their children, Drake, Reganne and Kaid; son, Dean Evans, and his wife, Denda, and their son, Tate; two step-daughters, Darcie Kennaley and husband, Larry, and their children, Cameron and Austin, and Melanie Harder and her husband, Matt, and their children, Landon, Caitlyn and Alyssa; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Emma; a sister, Emma Jean Manson; a brother, Bob Evans; and a brother-in-law, Orville Mayne.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
