The Algona girls swim team split a double dual meet on Tuesday night. They lost to DM Lincoln (78-16) and beat Perry (58-35) for their first win of the season.
Against Lincoln, Hannah Priest and the 400 freestyle relay team both finished second. Against Perry, Nicole Kenne had a pair of wins in the 200 and 500 freestyle events. Alyssa Williams had a first place finish in the back stroke and Missy Zadow finished first in the 100 breast stroke.
Kendra Roethler had a second place finish in the 200 freestyle event and MacKenzie Wilson was second in the 200 IM event. The 200 medley relay team, the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay teams all finished first and the 200 freestyle relay team finished second.
"We had four new people in the water for the first time in a meet and they performed well." said Algona coach Jim Fisher. "We now have times to work on to get better.
Next up for the girls is Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Boone. The girls will have their first home meet in Algona on Sept. 16.
