RUTHVEN - The Armstrong-Ringsted volleyball team came out of the gates swinging in Tuesday's matchup with Ruthven-Ayrshire. Unfortunately, that intensity didn't translate into a victory as the Mustangs fell in three straight games, 26-24, 25-12 and 25-19.
"The girls were very intense and played hard throughout all three games,"?said A-R coach George Walker. "Our serving was very good, but we had too many free balls due to our lack of attacking the ball and came up short."
A-R was led by Jasmine Clausen, Emily Irmiter and Dena Looft with three kills each.
Clausen also led with 10 digs and was 14-of-15 serving with two aces.
Jordan Guerdet was 13-of-15 with an ace and Irmiter was 7-of-7 with an ace.
Cassie Rasmussen led with eight assists on the evening.
In a quick turnaround, the Mustangs will host Estherville Lincoln Central tonight in Armstrong.
