WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. - After losing its second-round match Thursday evening, the Iowa Lakes volleyball team bounced back on Friday with a 3-0 win over rival Kirkwood, sweeping the Eagles 3-0 at the 2010 National Volleyball Tournament in Wisconsin Dells.
The victory sends the Lakers into the match for fifth place today at 2:30 p.m. against Kishwaukee.
The Lakers entered the tournament as the top seed and opened with a 3-0 victory over Genesee Community College by scores of 25-14, 25-22 and 25-12.
Iowa Lakes didn't fare as well against Pasca Hernando College losing by scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-23.
Friday's win against Kirkwood came on scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-11.
