BURLINGTON - The ninth-ranked Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team lost its first game of the year Thursday night in Burlington to Southeastern, 94-60.
The Lakers were led in scoring by Larentaz Daniels with 23 points as the freshmen turned in another good offensive game. Following Daniels was sophomore point guard DeVante Cutler with 18 points and eight rebounds. Charles McNeal also chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Southeastern had four guys score in double figures and were led by Paris Gulley with 19 points.
"When you play scared it's difficult to win games when you play teams of Southeastern's talent level," said Lakers Head Coach Troy Larson.
The Lakers travel to Clinton today. Game time is 1 p.m. The next Lakers home contest will be Tuesday, Nov. 23 against Rochester.
