NSKAR pulls out first win

BANCROFT - The North Sentral Kossuth/Armstrong-Ringsted baseball team earned its first win of the season with a 6-3 victory over Bishop Garrigan.

NSKAR jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning as Jordan Ricke led off with a double and scored on a hit by Jake Larson. After a single by Brett Thackery, hits by Travis Larson and Brett Beadle brought in two more runs.

The Bears tied the game up with three runs in the fourth, but NSKAR had the final ward.

Jake Larson hit a bases-clearing triple down the right-field line. He ended the night going 3-4 with a double, a triple and four RBIs.

Sophomore Sawyer Doocy earned the win on the mound. He struck out nine batters and walked one to hand Garrigan its first loss of the season.

NSKAR out-hit Garrigan 9-4.

Thackery finished 2-4 with a double.

NSKAR (1-2) is home against Northeast Hamilton on Tuesday.
