SWEA CITY - Allie Ingalls struck out 14 batters and North Sentral Kossuth/Armstrong-Ringsted withstood an Emmetsburg rally for a 5-4 win on Thursday.

Kirsten Adams opened up the game with a grand slam to center field in the bottom of the first inning. NSKAR added another run in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead. The E'Hawks gained life in the sixth as they took advantage of an NSKAR error.

At the plate, Ingalls, Tori Johnson and Collete Haag each went 1-2 with a run scored. Abby Ingalls and Adams were both 1-3.

Besides the 14 strikeouts, Allie Ingalls gave up just four hits and four walks. Emmetsburg's Faith Scmidt struck out eight and walked two batters while giving up five hits.

NSKAR (2-0) is on the road next Thursday against North Iowa. Varsity will play first.
