ESTHERVILLE - Mass of Christian Burial for Michael Grabianowski, 87, of Armstrong will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Armstrong with Father John Thomas as Celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Armstrong with Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Armstrong.

He died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong.

Michael D. Grabianowski, the son of Joseph and Rose (Mosloski) Grabianowski, was born Aug. 21, 1924, in East Chain, Minn.

Mike attended East Chain Country School. He then served in the United States Army in the 47th Engineer Company during World War II and was in Okinawa for one year. He was honorably discharged in 1946.

On Nov. 23, 1948, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Wegner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Armstrong. The couple made their home in rural Armstrong and Mike was a self-employed farmer living in the Armstrong area all of his life. He retired from farming in 2004. Phyllis died in 2002.

Mike was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, VFW and the Knights of Columbus.

Left to cherish Mike's memory are his children, Virginia C. Sickler of Dunnell, Minn., Paul M. Grabianowski of Mankato, Minn. and Brian D. Grabianowski and his wife, Sue, of Fairmont, Minn.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, John Grabianowski and Eddie and Donna Grabianowski and two sisters-in-law, Elola Kracht and Arlene Grabinoski.

He has been preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandparents, three brothers, two sisters and one son-in-law. Online condolences may be sent to
