RINGSTED - Funeral services for Laura Anderson, 97, of Armstrong will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church in Ringsted with Pastor Suzanne Wobig officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church only on Friday. Interment will be at Ringsted Memorial Cemetery.
She died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong.
Laura (Trenary) Anderson, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Moore) Trenary, was born Nov. 28, 1913, in Irwin, S.D.
She received her education in the rural country schools, attending Irwin High School. In 1934, Laura moved with her family to Laurens.
On Feb. 24, 1936, she was united in marriage to Raymond Anderson in Emmetsburg. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Ringsted area living on the family farm for 60 years. The couple enjoyed traveling and wintered in McAllen, Texas for 30 years. Raymond passed away Oct. 29, 1997. For hobbies, she enjoyed cooking, crocheting and especially spending time with her family.
She was a member of the Ringsted Presbyterian Church, Ringsted Presbyterian Women and the Birthday Club.
Left to cherish Laura's memory are her children, Dale and his wife, Janice, of Estherville, Darryl and his wife, Sue, of Ringsted, Dave and his wife, Ruth, of Altoona and Judy Boettcher and her husband, Dennis, of Lakota; daughter-in-law, Donna Anderson, of Ringsted; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Joan Trenary.
