Carl J. Anderson Jr.

He received his education in the Armstrong schools graduating from Armstrong High School in 1958. He attended and graduated from a mechanic's school in Omaha, Neb. Carl then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to the Armstrong area and began working as a mechanic and worked for several garages in Armstrong.

On Aug. 15, 1964, Carl was united in marriage to Jeanne Olson at Estherville Lutheran Church. After their marriage the couple moved to Montana for a time. Then they moved to Estherville for a year, then to Armstrong. At that time, Carl attended the police academy at Camp Dodge where he became a certified police officer. Following his graduation from the academy Jeanne and Carl moved to Buffalo Center where they lived for four years and Carl was employed as a police officer. Then they moved to Ringsted, where Carl lived the remainder of his life. He was employed as Ringsted's police officer and he also did maintenance work for the City of Ringsted. Later he went to Work for Art's-Way Manufacturing in Armstrong as a welder. Then Carl went to work for T.G. Industries until his retirement in 2001. There was not a stranger in Carl's life. He enjoyed talking with others and sitting down to drink a cup of coffee and solving the world's affairs. He loved working in his shop in his garage at home and building things. Planters, wagons and sleighs were a specialty. Carl's greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his beloved family. He enjoyed visiting his children and having them over to Jeanne and his home and grilling for them. His precious grandchildren kept a twinkle in his eye and he cherished them as he did his children.

Left to cherish Carl's life are his wife, Jeanne, of Ringsted; his children, Michael Anderson and his wife, Maureen, of Fort Dodge, Timothy Anderson and his wife, Hope, of Ledyard, Amy Starnes and her husband, Steve, of Ringsted, Nathan Anderson and his wife, Lisa, of Lake City, Minn., Sara Anderson of Ringsted and Beth Flores and her husband, Melchor, of Fort Dodge; his 21 beloved grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and siblings, Magnus "Buddy" Anderson and his wife, Margaret, of Armstrong, Cecelia Jensen and her husband, Richard, of Armstrong and Elna Witt of Des Moines.
