Does your child qualify for bus transportation?
He/she may! If you live over 2 miles from the school your child attends, and more than 3/4 mile from the nearest bus stop; you qualify for free bus transportation.
This is an Iowa law.
The bus will stop before and after school.
If your child attends a registered child care that meets distance requirements; your child can be picked up and dropped off at daycare.
If you received a letter from the superintendent stating you are denied transportation, please disregard. Measurements on these letters are incorrect.
Check your odometer, and/or mapquest for measurements. Call the director of transportation at 362-2820 to start transportation for your child.
In such a case that there are many stops in one neighborhood, I believe one stop would better serve the community.
There are laws put in place for the well-being and safety of our children; do not be afraid to stand up for your rights.
