The Iowa Lakes men lost 66-49 to Marshalltown on Wednesday as their record fell to 7-10 on the season and 1-4 in conference play.
The Lakers trailed 39-19 after one half of play after the hosts had built a 35-11 lead.
Iowa Lakes never inched closer than 15 points in the second half though.
Reggie Hearn led the Lakers with 10 points.
Marshalltown out-rebounded Iowa Lakes 40-34. The Tigers had 16 offensive rebounds on the night.
Iowa Lakes shot 17-of-43 (39.5 percent) from the field while Marshalltown shot 25-of-64 (39.1 percent) from the field.
Iowa Lakes will travel to Creston to take on Southwestern Community college on Wednesday, Jan. 25. The Lakers next home game is 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31 against the Dakota Wesleyan Junior Varsity.
Iowa Lakes 61, Marshalltown 52
The Iowa Lakes Women fell behind 36-19 and a second-half rally came up short as the Lakers lost 61-52 to Marshalltown on Wednesday.
Iowa Lakes made a run in the second half, cutting the deficit to 50-43 with 7:10 remaining in the game.
A 9-0 spurt by the Tigers put the game back out of reach.
Samera Williams led the Lakers with 13 points.
Iowa Lakes has now dropped five in a row to fall to 5-12 overall and 0-7 in conference action. The Lakers host Southeastern Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday in Estherville.
