Do you have a dog? Do you keep it outside at night? Does it bark? If so, have you had a call from your neighbor lately?
If not, you might pretty soon.
A number of people in Estherville have recently complained about dogs barking at night.
That's really not fair, especially for people who don't even have dogs - but have to listen to the sound of their neighbors'.
So if you have a dog, please try to keep it quiet. Let it inside if you have to, but don't subject your neighbors to a lot of unnecessary noise in the middle of the night.
Prom and drinking
The "Every 15 minutes" program at Estherville Lincoln Central couldn't have come at a better time, especially with prom coming up this weekend. Students got a good taste of reality - or pretty near it - with the two days of tragedy marked with stark realism.
Hopefully, the lessons learned will extend over prom weekend, and not only for just ELC but also for our other area high-school students as they make plans for prom.
Another tax day passed
And if you're like a whole lot of other people, you probably filed your federal income tax return Tuesday - or shortly before. While procrastination seems to be human nature for a lot of people, having to pay in on their taxes seems to be enough to delay a lot of people in getting their taxes completed and mailed in.
So thank you for paying your taxes. The IRS doesn't say that. The senators and representatives and President never say that. The Supreme Court never says that. So we'll say that.
Thank you for paying your taxes.
Now doesn't that make you feel a whole lot better?
