Tom Wee, 56, of Sioux Center, formerly of Estherville, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville.

Thomas Glen Wee was born in Estherville on Aug. 8, 1955 to Merlyn and Arlene (Walz) Wee. He lived with his family in Estherville until the age of 12 when he became a resident of the State Hospital School at Woodward. In 1977, he returned to northwest Iowa where he lived and worked at Village Northwest in Sheldon. Following his stay in Sheldon, Tom moved to Hope Haven's Westview Homes in Rock Valley. In 2002, Tom moved to Sioux Center, where he lived in a Hope Haven group home.
Over the years Tom participated in Special Olympics; he received gold and silver medals in ice skating competitions at the state level. Tom loved to listen to music and sing. Wheel of Fortune, along with old westerns were his favorite television shows. Family gatherings and staying connected to family were at the top of Tom's priority list.
Tom is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Larry Wee and Lori Piatt-Wee of Omaha, Neb.; brother, Bill Wee of Sheldon, and sister-in-law, Linda Wee of Parkersburg; seven nieces and nephews; seven great nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Merlyn and Arlene Wee and two brothers: Kenneth Wee and James Wee.
