EVERLY - North Union swept Clay Central-Everly in Cornbelt Conference play on Monday.
The Warriors took game one 17-4 in five innings and 19-2 in six innings.
Cody Runksmeier pitched all five innings in the first game. He gave four runs (two earned) on six hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
North Union pounded out 11 hits.
Sawyer Doocy was 3-4 with three RBIs. Evan Hagebock was 2-3 with two RBIs. Jake Adams was 2-2 with an RBI and four stolen bases. Garrett Johnson was 1-3 with an RBI, Colin Runksmeieir was 1-1 with an RBI, Brett Thackery was 1-1 with an RBI, Alex Deitering was 1-2 with two RBIs and Cody Runksmeier was 1-3 with an RBI.
In game two, Zach Hurlburt pitched four innings to get the win. He gave up two earned runs on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Johnson pitched an inning and gave up one hit with one strikeout and one walk. Hagebock pitched an inning and gave up one hit with two strikeouts.
The Warriors had 12 hits and drew 11 walks.
Doocy was 3-3 with two doubles, a home run and four RBIs. Brett Deitering was 2-4 with a triple. Hagebock was 2-4 with two doubles and four RBIs. Adams was 2-3 with an RBI. Johnson was 1-4 with an RBI, Alex Deitering was 1-4 with an RBI and Hurlburt was 1-3. Thackery, Brandon Kollasch and Zach Ditsworth each had an RBI.
North Union (13-3 overall) hosted Spalding Catholic on Tuesday and will host Okoboji on Thursday.
