SWEA CITY - North Union is one of four softball teams in the state boasting a state-leading 19-0 record following the Warriors' 6-1 victory over Okoboji on Tuesday.
Akron-Westfield, Bishop Heelan and Clear Creek-Amana also are perfect in 19 games this season.
Two other teams, Des Moines East and East Marshall round out the teams without a loss.
In Tuesday's win over the Pioneers, North Union's came up with nine hits on the night.
Sara Johnson led the way, going 2-3 with four RBIs. Collete Haag was 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Dena Looft was 1-3 with a double and an RBI. Harley Lindell was 1-3 with a double and Cheyanne Boland was 1-4 with a double. Also Autumn Boland was 1-1.
Allie Ingalls earned the victory. She gave up one earned run on five hits with 11 strikeouts and no walks.
North Union hosts Spencer tonight in Swea City. The Warriors defeated the Tigers earlier this year 11-2 at the Estherville Lincoln Central Softball Classic.
