Before the rains came down, the Estherville Lincoln Central Softball Team rained runs on visiting Bishop Garrigan on Thursday.
While the Midgets' bats took a while to heat up, a couple Golden Bears' errors in the fourth inning opened the door to seven ELC runs.
ELC scored its first run in the third inning when Kirsten King hit a one-out double and scored on a single by Emily Kirchner.
Normally at shortstop, ELC’s Emily Kirchner tried a turn at catcher after the Midgets had the game well in hand against Bishop Garrigan on Thursday.

In the fourth inning, Taylor Lago reached base on a one-out error by the visitors' third baseman. With two outs, Caitlyn Clayton drove in Lago when an error was committed in left field. Kellie Christensen followed with an RBI single, which was followed by a single by King. Macy Dahl had an RBI single and Kirchner brought home two runs with a double.
Bosch singled to score Kirchner and went to third on Bishop Garrigan's third error of the night. She then scored on a passed ball to give ELC an 8-0 lead.
ELC didn't take long to score the final two runs in the fifth. Sarah Schacherer stepped into the game and drew a leadoff walk. Sadie Winter singled up the middle and Clayton hit a double down the left-field line to score both runs.
Kirchner was 3-3 on the night with three RBIs. King and Dahl each went 2-3. Dahl had one RBI.
Bosch and Clayton each were 1-3 with a double. Winter was 1-3 and Christensen was 1-2.
Ashton Reisner pitched four innings. She faced 14 batters and gave up just two hits with one strikeout.
Liz Brashear closed out the fifth inning. She faced five batters and gave up two hits with one strikeout.
ELC (14-4) hosts Okoboji this evening.
