EVERLY - The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire softball team split its games with Clay Central-Everly on Monday. The Mavericks had a seven-run sixth inning to take game one 12-11.
Alyssa Hoffman pitched all seven innings and gave up 12 runs (two earned) on six hits with five walks and three strikeouts.
GT/RA had 10 hits in the game. Nikki Brown was 3-4 with an RBI. Maddy Schany was 2-4 with a double and two RBIs. Daisy Jordan also was 2-4. Alyssa Hoffman and Brooke Hoffman each went 1-5. Marly Bakken was 1-4 with a double and two RBIs.
In the second game, GT/RA won 15-3 in six innings. Hoffman was again on the mound. She gave up three unearned runs on three hits with four walks and three strikeouts.
GT/RA pounded out 15 hits. Morgan Matthews was 3-3 with an RBI. Morgan MacGrauth and Jordan each went 2-3 while Schany was 2-4 and Bakken was 2-5. Hailley Nelson was 1-3 while Alyssa Hoffman was 1-4 and Grace Skattebo was 1-5 with an RBI.
GT/RA (9-15) hosted Laurens-Marathon in Ruthven on Tuesday. The Knights are at the Okoboji Tournament this Thursday.
