BANCROFT - The North Union Baseball Team scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Central Springs 10-9 on Thursday.
The two teams were tied 7-7 heading into the sixth inning. The Warriors sent junior ace Sawyer Doocy to the mound to close out the game.
But the visitors scored two earned runs in the top of the sixth to take a 9-7 lead.
While the Warriors didn't score in the bottom of the sixth inning, Doocy struck out the side in the top of the seventh to give his team a chance.
The Warriors' rally started with one out as Alex Deitering drew a walk and Brandon Kollasch was hit by a pitch. A single by Jake Adams brought home one run.
Brett Deitering was then hit by a pitch.
Evan Hagebock drove in the game-tying run with a single and Doocy singled to bring in the game-winner.
Brett Thackery pitched 4 1/3 innings. He gave up five runs (three earned) on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks. Garrett Johnson pitched two-thirds of an inning. He gave up two unearned runs and had one strikeout, one walk and one hit batter.
Doocy finished the game four strikeouts and gave up three hits.
At the plate, Doocy was 4-5 with a double, a triple and four RBIs. Alex Deitering was 2-4.
Hagebock was 1-4 with an RBI as was Adams. Brett Deitering and Thackery each were 1-3 with an RBI.
