SPIRIT?LAKE?- The Spirit Lake Softball Team handed LeMars its third Lakes Conference loss with an 11-10 walkoff victory on Monday.
Tied at 10-10 entering the seventh inning, the Indians took advantage of three walks to load the bases. Paige Kruse ended the game with a single to centerfield.
Krause was 3-5 in the contest with a home run and four RBIs.
Krause also got the win on the mound as she pitched two innings in relief of starter Cara Vale. Krause gave up three runs (two earned) on no hits with three walks and a strikeout. Vale gave up seven earned runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts and one walk.
Vale was 3-4 with an RBI. Alissa Christoffer and Bailee Newman each went 2-4.
Spirit Lake (16-16 overall) was at Cherokee Tuesday. The Indians host Estherville Lincoln Central on Wednesday.
LeMars ends Indians win streak
SPIRIT?LAKE?- The Spirit Lake Baseball Team's 10-game winning streak came to an end with a 12-1, six-inning loss to LeMars on Monday.
Ben Spaeth took the loss for the Indians. He pitched three innings and gave up five runs on three hits.
Spirit Lake (15-6 overall, 8-3 in the Lakes Conference) hosts Estherville Lincoln Central on Wednesday.
