North Union ekes out 2-1 win

ALGONA - The North Union Baseball Team came away with a 2-1 victory over Algona on Thursday.

The Warriors scored both their runs in the top of the third inning with one out.

Evan Hagebock drew a walk and Sawyer Doocy was hit by a pitch. A single by Brett Thackery loaded the bases.

Hagebock scored on a sacrifice fly by Garrett Johnson and Cody Runksmeier drew a walk to reload the bases.

Alex Deitering was hit by a pitch as the second run crossed the plate.

Algona had scored its run in the bottom of the second.

Sawyer Doocy pitched all seven innings for the Warriors. He struck out eight batters while giving up one earned run on five hits with three walks.
