ALGONA - After rallying from a 6-2 deficit to cut the lead to 6-5, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire could get no closer against Bishop Garrigan on Monday.
The Golden Bears added three insurance runs in the top of the seventh off a three-run home run by Hannah Byrkeland to seal the 9-5 victory.
Garrigan struck first in the game with five runs in the fourth inning which included one Knight error, a double by Kristin Condoleon and a two-run single by Abbey Reding.
The Knights came back with two runs in the bottom of the fourth as Alyssa Hoffman and Hailley Nelson scored on a Golden Bear error.
Garrigan scored one run in the top of the fifth on a sacrifice fly to get the 6-2 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, Brooke Hoffman hit a two-run single followed by an RBI double by Marly Bakken as GT/Ra cut the lead to 6-5.
GT/RA finished with six hits on the night, Alyssa Hoffman and Nelson each went 2-4 while Brooke Hoffman was 1-4 and Bakken was 1-3.
Alyssa Hoffman took the loss on the mound as the Golden Bears finished with 10 hits in the game.
GT/RA ends the season with a 14-20 mark, a slight improvement over 2011 when the Knights went 10-20.
Seniors playing in their final game are Morgan Matthews, Hailley Nelson, Maddy Schany and Nikki Brown.
