On July 10, 2012, Officers from the Estherville Police Department were dispatched to an Estherville residence regarding a possible violation of a no contact order.
Officers arrived, and the female resident victim exited the home and indicated that a person who was prohibited from contacting her was in the residence, and had retreated to the crawl space of the attic.
With the victim's permission, Officers entered the home and found evidence of the perpetrator, identified as Dallas John Traver, 26, of 301 South Cameron, Graettinger, entering a crawl space into the attic area of the home.
Officers attempted to have Traver voluntarily exit the crawlspace but did not get a response.
Officers then spent approximately 20 minutes obtaining equipment to allow them safe entry into the crawlspace, entered the attic area and found Traver hiding under the insulation.
After a period of time, Traver then voluntarily exited the attic.
After obtaining pertinent information, Officers charged Traver with stalking, a Class "D" felony, trespass, interference with official acts, and 43 counts of violation of a no contact order, all simple misdemeanors.
Traver is being held in the Emmet County Jail under a $50,000 cash bond.
