Nine vie for Emmet County Fair Queen, Princess

Contest is Thursday evening at fairgrounds

A total of nine young women are vying for Emmet County Fair Queen and Princess. The fair queen contest and fashion show will be held 7:30 p.m. Thurssday at the Ingham Lake Building during the Emmet County Fair.

Brianna Enerson is the 16-year-old daughter of Arvin and Anna Enerson of Estherville. She will be a junior this fall at Estherville Lincoln Central High School where she is involved in cross country, track, summer running camp and band including marching band, jazz band, pep band and concert band. She also is in 4-H, FFA and volunteers at youth programs at church all year long.

Becky Cronk is the 17-year-old daughter of Brian and Jackie Cronk of Armstrong. She is going to be a serior this fall at Armstong Ringsted High School. She is a member of the Iowa Lake 4-Hers 4-H Club.

Emily Chrestiansen is the 18-year-old daughter of Bruce and Lori Chrestiansen of Estherville. She graduated from Estherville Lincoln Central this spring and will be attending the University of South Dakota this fall where she will major in political science. During high school she was involved in tennis, band, art, speech, drama, student council, Purple Cord, National Honor Society and Midget Maniacs. She is a nine-year member of the 12-Mile Lakers 4-H Club where she is the current president. She also is the president of the County Council and a member of the 4-H Foundation Committee.

Rebecca Lair is the 16-year-old daughter of Russ and Tammy Lair of Estherville. She will be a junior this fall at Estherville Lincoln Central High School. During school she participates in band, choir, dance team, Lecole la Danse dance studio, student council, speech, church youth and National History Day. She is a member of the Twelve Mile Lakers 4-H Club, County Council and Estherville FFA, where she is the Northwest District FFA secretary.

Jalissa Irmiter is the 17-year-old daughter of John and Kris Irmiter. She will be a senior this fall at North Union High School. After high school her plans are to become a pediatric nurse. She is a member of the Iowa Lake 4-Hers 4-H Club.

Mara Irmiter is the 18-year-old daughter of Mike and Jill Irmiter of Armstrong. She graduated from A-R High School this spring and will be attending MSU this fall to major in nursing. She is a member of Iowa Lake 4-Hers 4-H Club, County Council, Emmet County 4-H and Youth Committee. She also was a member of the 2010-2011 State 4-H Council, 2010 National 4-H Congress, National Honor Society and teaches Sunday School.

Leslie Brandt is the 17-year-old daughter of Lennon and Mary Brandt of Swea City. She will be a senior at North Union High School this fall. She is a member of the Iowa Lake 4-Hers, 4-H Club.

Allison Buum is the 17-year-old daughter of Greg and Coleen Buum of Armstrong. She will be a senior this fall at North Union High School where she is involved in football cheerleading, yearbook, publications/journalism, band, choir and student council. She is also a member of the Iowa Lake 4-Hers 4-H Club where she is the treasurer. Allie also is a fair board member and a county council member and volunteers at blood drives.

Paige Hoffmeyer is the 18-year-old daughter of Monte and Deb Hoffmeyer of Estherville. She graduated in 2012 from Estherville Lincoln High School and will be attending Iowa Lake Community College this fall. She is a member of the Ellsworth Go-Getters 4-H Club and Emmet County Council.
