The Armstrong-Ringsted Board of Education Monday night heard of an upcoming fundraiser for the North Union music boosters.
Barry Boland told the board that from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, Bob Boland Ford will donate $20 for every test drive given to the music boosters.
The test drives will take place in front of North Union High School in Armstrong.
Boland said six or seven vehicles will be available to test drive and that he will supply the vehicles, gas and insurance.
In other business Monday night, the board discussed reorganization with Sentral School District.
Superintendent Matt Berninghaus said state incentives for whole-grade sharing would run out in 2014, making that the target date for reorganization for Sentral. He said whole-grade sharing, now a three-way agreement with North Kossuth and Sentral, could later turn into a two-phase process with North Kossuth.
"I think we could reorganize with both over time," Berninghaus said.
Board president Jim Boyer noted that property tax rates, employment and master contracts would all be involved in reorganization.
Berninghaus said registration for grades nine through 12 will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6 and noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7. He said student registration packets will go out next week.
Berninghaus said Armstrong-Ringsted is working with North Kossuth and Sentral to transfer furniture and books between buildings.
He also noted that a drop ceiling and new lighting are being installed in the vocal room which is also being repainted.
He also noted the new parking lot is being excavated on the north side of the Armstrong building.
