Three ELC players earn Lakes honors

Three Estherville Lincoln Central baseball players received all-conference honors after the Midgets completed a 4-10 campaign in the Lakes Conference.

ELC senior Joe Clayton was named to the second team as a utility player.

Clayton posted a 2-3 record in league play having pitched 32 innings. He had a 2.84 earned run average with 33 strikeouts, 13 walks and five hit batters. Opponents batted .227 against him.

Estherville Lincoln Central seniors Gable Bonner and Joe Clayton both received Lakes All-Conference honors for their play on the baseball diamond this summer. Clayton was named to the second team while Bonner earned honorable mention.

Senior Gable Bonner and junior Tucker Milburn both earned honorable mention.

Bonner, ELC's first baseman, batted .293 in league play with a 4.08 on-base percentage. He had 12 hits with one home run and six RBIs.

Milburn, a third baseman and pitcher, batted .267 in league play with 12 hits including two doubles and one RBI. He posted a 1-4 record in the conference. In 31 1/3 innings, he struck out 20, walked 19 and hit two with a 5.81 ERA.
