Many 4-H'ers may show one or two of the three main large animals shown at the fair.
But few have experience with all three-beef, sheep and swine.
The 2012 Emmet County Fair featured the first-ever supreme showmanship competition.
Chase Paulson said he had never shown swine at the fair until competing in the supreme showmanship competition Friday evening.

The top senior showmanship winners from each of the three events showed their mastery in their area of expertise and then also showed the animals in the other two areas.
Beef winners competing were Chase Paulson, Ryan McMurtry and Dalton Brown. Swine winners competing were Evan Hansen, Bryce Hansen and Emmy Schroeder.
There was only one senior competitor from the sheep division-Clyve Jensen.
Three judges scored the contestants.
Paulson came out as the event's first winner.
"I had shown sheep before, but I knew nothing about hogs," he said.
The supreme showmanship award can only be won once.
