An Omaha woman faces drunk driving charges after a single vehicle crash at Fort Defiance State Park that injured a Lake Park man Wednesday afternoon.
According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, the accident was reported at the west end of the park at 1:54 p.m. The reporting person advised that there was believed to be smoke coming from the vehicle which had struck a tree.
With sheriff's personnel out of position, the Estherville Police were requested to respond to the scene.
Estherville firefighter Chris Inman was one of the first responders who attended the scene of a one-vehicle accident in Fort Defiance State Park on Wednesday.

Upon investigation at the scene by the Emmet County Sheriff's Office, it was determined that the 2002 Volkswagon owned by Randall Seggerman of Omaha, Neb., and driven by Breanna Seggerman, 20, of Omaha was traveling westbound through Fort Defiance when it left the roadway, struck a tree and rolled onto its side.
A passenger, Nicholas Hemphill, 24, of Lake Park was transported to Avera Holy Family Hospital by the Estherville Ambulance Service for treatment of minor injuries.
Seggerman was placed under arrest by the Estherville Police Department for OWI second offense, open container of alcohol on a public roadway and possession of alcohol under legal age.
Seggerman was booked into the Emmet County Jail without incident.
Also assisting at the scene was the Estherville Fire Department.
