Two injured in Thursday accident

WALLINGFORD - Two people were injured in Thursday's accident near Wallingford.

According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, a southbound 1991 Dodge owned and driven by Jeffrey Petrich, 20, of Graettinger struck the rear of a 1998 Chevrolet pickup owned and driven by Arthur Behnke, 63, of Estherville as it slowed and was turning into Behnke's driveway at 2181 Highway 4.

Martens said the report of the accident came from a 911 call from a motorist at around 11:17 a.m.

Both Behnke and Petrich were transported to Avera Holy Family Hospital by the Estherville Ambulance Service for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The 1998 Dodge received $5,000 damage and the Chevrolet pickup received $2,500 in damages.

Also assisting at the scene was the Wallingford Fire and Rescue, Iowa Dept of Transportation, and Emmet County Emergency Management.
