Warriors split first six matches

HUMBOLDT - The North Union began its season with six matches at the Humboldt Tournament on Saturday.

The Warriors finished with a 3-3 record, winning 2-0 over Emmetsburg and Ogden and 2-1 over Spirit Lake. North Union lost 2-1 to West Bend-Mallard and Humboldt and 2-0 to South Central Calhoun.

Madison Bollig led the attack throughout the day as she finished with 26 kills. Aurora Oliver finished with 13 kills while Sara Johnson had 12, Maaike Weiser had nine, Jasmine Clausen had eight and Collete Haag had seven.

Weiser also had 10 ace serves on the day. Marissa Doocy and Johnson each had five aces, Clausen and Haag each had four and Allie Ingalls had three.

Ingalls was 3-4of-36 serving while Haag was 46-of-49.

Libero Cheyanne Boland led the defense with 58 digs. Haag finished with 25 while Weiser and Clausen each had 12. At the net, Bollig had seven blocks, Oliver had five and Clausen had four.

Weiser finished with 38 set assists and Ingalls had 28.

North Union (3-3 overall) travels to the Algona Tournament this Saturday.
