RINGSTED - Funeral services for Jeanne Anderson, 70, of Ringsted will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at United Lutheran Church in Ringsted with Pastor Lauri Boysen officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Ringsted.
She died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville.
Jeanne Louise (Olson) Anderson, the daughter of Glenn and Joyce (Franseria) Olson, was born Jan. 18, 1942, in Estherville.
She received her education in the Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1960. She attended a college in Minneapolis, graduating in 1961 as a radiological technician. Jeanne then attended Estherville Junior College and graduated in 1963 with a teaching certificate.
On Aug. 15, 1964, Jeanne was united in marriage to Carl Anderson at Estherville Lutheran Church. After their marriage, the couple moved to the Billings, Mont. area and Jeanne was employed as a school teacher from 1963 - 1965, teaching in a rural, one-room school. Then they moved back to Estherville for a year, then to Armstrong. While making their home there, Jeanne was employed as a nurse aide. Later the family moved to Buffalo Center, where they lived for four years, then they moved to Ringsted to permanently make their home. Jeanne was employed for 15 years as a nurse/med/rehab aide in Emmetsburg.
Left to cherish Jeanne's life are her children, Michael Anderson and his wife, Maureen of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Timothy Anderson and his wife, Hope of Ledyard, Iowa; Amy Starnes and her husband, Steve of Ringsted; Nathan Anderson and his wife, Lisa of Lake City, Minn.; Sara Anderson of Warrensburg, Mo.; Beth Flores and her husband, Melchor of Fort Dodge; her 21 beloved grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Glenyce Towell and her husband, Jim of Estherville; Linda DeVore and her husband, Jim of Estherville; Lois Graettinger and her husband, Ron of Graettinger, Iowa and John Olson and his wife, Jill of South Bend, Ind., and also by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, in December 2011, and her parents.
