SPENCER - Iowa Lakes Community College women's soccer team picked up another victory against conference rival Scott Community College with a 5-0 victory.
"We really didn't play very fluid in the first half and at times were a bit lazy in making creative runs and moving off the ball," said Iowa Lakes coach Ammon Bennett. "The second half was much better as we simply moved quicker and attacked better. We have to be able to play like this for the entire game and certainly when we are dominating the play."
Iowa Lakes dominated the shots 23-0 and had 13 corner kicks to Scott's three.
"I was disappointed in the three that we gave up to Scott on what I would say was just mental errors, but again we have to clean this up," said Bennett. "We are a talented side that is improving each week and hope to continue to do so as the season continues."
Salena Ramos, Cortnee Sanchez, Brittney Valentine, Brooke Saxton, and Lizzy Rasmussen each scored a goal while Joy Westwood and Brittney Hanson each had assists.
Kelsey Johnson recorded the win in goal for the Lakers.
The Lakers (8-3 overall, 2-2 in league play) travel to Century College for a non-conference action Thursday in White Bear Lake Minn. Kickoff is at 3 p.m.
