The Estherville Lincoln Central/North Union junior high cross-country teams had a busy week with a meet in Algona on Monday and then at Spencer on Tuesday.
At Algona on Monday, there were 15 girls' teams.
Pocahontas won with 69 points followed by Fairmont, Minn., with 75, Spencer with 87, ELC/NU with 88, Spirit Lake with 125, Humboldt with 142, Algona with 159, Clear Lake with 238 and Eagle Grove with 276.
Hallie Jensen led ELC/NU with an 11th-place finish in 13:25. Caressa Franklin placed 12th in 13:27, Sydni Quastad placed 13th in 13:42, Karley Hanson placed 21st in 14:06 and Taylor Morris placed 31st in 14:34.
Also running, Bailey Spiegeler placed 51st in 15:15, Melissa Gruwell placed 53rd in 15:42, Claudia Kinnander placed 54th in 15:44, Jerica Walters placed 66th in 16:02 and Maggie Nitchals placed 78th in 16:39.
In the boys' race, Drew Condon placed 23rd in 13:46 and Marcus Smith placed 40th in 14:56.
ELC/NU places first
At Spencer, ELC/NU placed first out of five teams with 37 points. Spirit Lake was second with 46, Spencer had 48 and LeMars and Okoboji did not have complete teams.
Franklin placed fourth in1 4:28, Jensen placed fifth in 14:29, Quastad placed eighth in 14:51, Morris placed ninth in 14:53 and Hanson placed 11th in 14:58.
Also Gruwell placed 22nd in 16:28, Walters placed 29th in 17:39, Kinnander placed 30th in 17:45, Spiegeler placed 33rd in 17:47, Nitchals placed 40th in 20:28 and Claire Funston placed 42nd in 20:50.
In the boys' race, Smith placed 12th in 15:07 and Condon placed 15th in 15:27.
