ARMSTRONG - Funeral services for Charles Clymer, 81, of Armstrong will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at United Methodist Church in Armstrong with Pastor Ray Sherwood officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church only on Saturday. Military rites will be held by Armstrong VFW and the American Legion Post.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong.
Charles David Clymer, the son of Charles and Era (Ellis) Clymer, was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Fonda.
He received his education at Day school east of Wallingford and his GED from Estherville. Charles served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
On July 6, 1963, he was united in marriage to Marvea Burgess. Chuck was an over the road truck driver for most of his life. For hobbies, he enjoyed playing his guitar and banjo and enjoyed driving his scooter and convertible Ford Mustang.
He was a member of Free Methodist Church and the Armstrong VFW.
Left to cherish Chuck's memory are his children, Dawn (Chris) Barnes; Genon (Robert) Peterson; Darwin (Regina) Howard; Tammy (Terry) Christensen; Kim (Tod) Peterson; Todd (Michelle) Clymer; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
