The Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation is kicking off "We Believe," the college's annual giving campaign. The theme - Building a Solid Future - emphasizes how integral every effort, no matter how large or small, 'builds' to provide a solid future for the college and its students.
From Oct. 9-16, the employees of Iowa Lakes will be asked to benefit the college and its students through scholarship and program pledges. Institutional Advancement/Foundations Executive Director Jolene Rogers will be available at each of the five campuses to visit with staff and faculty about meeting financial needs that exist beyond traditional funding sources.
"The college employees will be pledging their commitment to our students, academic programs and communities early in October. Every dollar donated helps the college with program improvements," commented Rogers. "We appreciate Iowa Lakes staff's dedication to the college and its students. Faculty and staff are all there providing assistance and support for our students as they (students) approach and continue on the path to a solid future!"
Once support of the college employees is secured, the community phase of the We Believe campaign will be held involving seeking support from individuals, businesses and alumni in the five-county college district and beyond.
"Tony (Iowa Lakes event coordinator) is finalizing his last scholarship fundraiser of the calendar year. The community support for these events is overwhelming. Over 200 volunteers assist in raising funds for local students to attend Iowa Lakes," added Rogers. "Here in northwest Iowa, a strong commitment to our communities is evident. Together we celebrate the college's commitment to innovation and quality academic programming."
