ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Dixie Iverson, 62, of Estherville will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Grandview Baptist Church in Estherville with Pastor Joel Jorgensen officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville. Interment will be at High Lake Cemetery in Wallingford.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at her home in Estherville.
Dixie (Nelson) Iverson, the daughter of Melvin and Dorothey (Anderson) Nelson, was born Oct. 12, 1950, in Jackson, Minn.
She received her education in Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1968.
On Nov. 29, 1968, she was united in marriage to Clair Iverson in South Dakota. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Estherville. Dixie was employed in food service - where she helped start Bud's Cafe; was food service manager for Forest Ridge; manager of Dinner Date in Spirit Lake and was also site manager for Senior Center (Northwest Aging) in Spirit Lake. Dixie loved bowling and most important was spending time with family and friends.
She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church, VFW Auxiliary, Pulmonary Hypertension Association and was a past member of Estherville Women's Bowling Association.
Left to cherish Dixie's memory is her husband, Clair; sons, Trace Iverson and his wife, Lesli, and Jay Iverson and his wife, Amber; grandchildren, Trevor, Haile, Hunter and Brooklyn; siblings, Cheryl Bass, Wendy Bleau and her husband, Sean, and Tom Nelson; sister-in-law, Suzanne Bonnickson, and special friend and sister-in-law, Nancy Iverson.
