ARMSTRONG - The North Union Football Team ended the season on a positive note with a 13-0 win over Okoboji on Friday.
In the first season as the Warriors (2-7 overall), the combined schools of North Kossuth, Sentral and Armstrong-Ringsted jumped from Eight-Man Football to Class 1A-a monumental task in spite of the success of A-R in recent years.
On Friday, North Union co-coach Tom Elliott said the Warriors put everything together against Okoboji.

"It was the first game where we put all four quarters together," Elliott said. "We did have the ball inside the 10 a few times that we weren't able to convert, but the kids played a good game all the way around."
The first half featured just one score.
North Union's Austin Minnmann broke threw the Okoboji offensive line on a punt attempt, blocked the kick, recovered the ball and took it in from about 10 yards out.
The score stood 7-0 at halftime with the Warriors making a defensive stand right before the break.
On the first possession of the third quarter, the Warriors drove down field and completed the drive on a 5-yard touchdown reception from Jacob Braddock to Garrett Johnson.
That completed the scoring for the night.
Johnson ended the game with an interception to halt Okoboji's last gasp.
Neither team generated much offense from scrimmage.
North Union had 72 carries for 114 yards.
Braddock had 16 carries for 86 yards and Cody Runksmeier had 14 carries for 24 yards.
Braddock was 4-of-12 passing for 31 yards. Aric Runge caught one pass for 11 yards, Jake Adams caught one for 10 and Matt Adams caught one pass for 5 yards.
Defensively, Michael Mather and Joey Stauffer each had a fumble recovery. Johnson had a team-high nine tackles while Matt Adams had eight, Jake Adams had six, Runskmeier had five and Ty Anderson had four.
Okoboji finished with 61 yards rushing and 108 passing.
