The first-ever Iowa Lakes Women's Alumni game featured 15 former players taking on the 2012-13 Laker squad on Saturday.
The Alumni kept the game close early on, but the Lakers' conditioning proved to be the difference as they went on to win 66-40.
The Alumni took its first lead on a three-pointer by Samantha Boje at 3-2. The Lakers scored the next two baskets to take a 7-3 lead.
Allie Renberg and Karissa Kramer scored to tie the game and Sam Widmer gave the Alumni a 9-7 lead.
The Lakers battled back to tie the game on a basket by Myangel Johnson and took the lead for good on a pair of free throws by Shabreka Edwards as part of a 13-0 run.
The Alumni kept the game close though getting within four after a basket by Renberg at 25-21.
But Carla Barrera hit a 3-pointer and the Lakers led 33-24 at the break.
Renberg scored four straight points to start the second half to cut the deficit to five, but moments later Barrera hit consecutive threes which made the lead 41-30.
The Lakers kept a double-digit advantage the rest of the way.
Renberg led the Alumni with 14 points. Mandy Brant Erpelding finished with six.
Barrera led the Lakers with 14 points while Johnson finished with 13, Amber Grengs had 11 and Shabreka Edwards had 10.
