GRUVER - There was a packed gym in Gruver Sunday night when the Emmet County 4-H awards night program was held at the Forest Ridge School Auditorium.
Bank Plus was selected to receive the "Friend of 4-H Award" for all that it has done for Emmet County 4-H. Receiving the award was Daryl Eickhoff, Bank Plus bank president. Bank Plus gives money to 4-Hers based on their highest ribbon received at the county fair. Their past, present and future support of the 4-H program in Emmet County is greatly appreciated.
Receiving the Alumni Award were Doug and Caryle Hansen. The Hansens were members of Emmet County 4-H as youth when they showed animals. Over the years they have been 4-H members, 4-H parents and 4-H leaders. As club leaders of the Center Champions 4-H Club, they organize activities and field trips for their 4-H Club to help members learn about new places and skills they will use throughout their lifetimes. The Hansens also serve as members of the Emmet County Fair Livestock Auction Committee and volunteer many hours making sure the auction runs well.
